Oh I’ve been broken
For such a long time now
Oh I’ve been stewing
Looking down at the ground
Oh the mud below me
Is steaming towards my knees
Oh won’t somebody help me
Help me if you please
Oh we walk along these rivers
Wondering where we made that left
That left us churning
For answers in the middle of the night
Oh our minds are tired
Of tallying the lefts and the rights
So over we roll from ourselves
And whisper to the ghosts Good Night
Oh we’ve all been broken
At some stages of our lives
Oh we’ve all been chewers
Not day dreaming up at the skies
Oh we’ve all felt the earth
Calling for our knees
Oh we’ve all felt our souls ringing
Help me if you please
Then along came a Rosie
Who baked in the middle of the night
Because it added order
Sweetness and delight
Her goodies of cookies and cupcakes
She’d place on her porch at two am
And any middle-of-the-nighters
Could take a treat for free
Oh how the people loved Rosie
Some set their alarms for two am
Soon the whole town was walking
Down Oak Street and making new friends
Rosie felt bad she couldn’t bake enough
But nobody seemed to mind
They were all so happy connecting
Instead of being alone and losing their minds
Oh we’ve all been broken
At some stages of our lives
And some of us had our Rosie’s
Who sweetened the lonely flight
But some of us didn’t and still whisper
To the ghosts in the middle of the night
But today I do thank my Rosie
Rosie truly saved my life
This day I'm thankful for my Rosie
For Rosie truly saved my life
